My name is Jim Quinn. I live in the Riverton, NJ area and have been managing, supporting, building and getting to generally play with all sorts of cool technologies for years. I very much enjoy my job. What makes it that so enjoyable is getting to do what I do with such a great group of people. One of the folks on our team is John Canant. An affable, here's-the-shirt-off-my-back kind of guy who would do anything for anyone. Also a heck of an engineer, he is always doing for others.
John and his family are one of the many who have been so substantially impacted by Hurricane Harvey in the Houston area. John's wife, two young daughters and two small dogs were evacuated by boat in the middle of the night while John stayed behind doing his best to protect his home and save the family's memories as best he could. John was evacuated the next day while, against all hope, the waters did not receed; they rose.
John was told that he and his neighbors may not be able to return to their homes for weeks. John and his family's future is uncertain while he and his neighbors wait to understand their fate. John's lodging, food and clothing are now a day-to-day challenge. My hope is to be able to provide resources for at least the most basic of needs while he and his family come to understand the next steps among what seems like few options.
My hope is to expedite any donations to and through my own accounts so that John is not limited by his ability to gain access to any institutions that may have also been locally impacted. Hopefully, I can reallocate any funds directly to John once his ability to conduct any electronic business is re-established.
John spends his personnal life and professional career helping others. He seems to "pay it forward" everyday. I hope this helps, John! Be safe, my friend.
