MY HERO WEARS KEVLAR

A few  months ago,  my brother Mike noticed something wrong with his throat.   It felt sore and swollen.   He was having a hard time swallowing as well.   He also had no sense of taste.   Not one to complain about not feeling well,  Mike went through his daily life.   One night,  the pain was so terrible he went to the emergency room.   There they ran every test imaginable.   The hospital’s diagnosis was that Mike had untreated strep throat.   He was sent home with antibiotics.  Unfortunately,  he did not get any better.   Mike followed up with his primary doctor.   His recommendation was for Mike to see and ENT specialist.   The ENT sent Mike for a CT scan.   The results showed Mike had throat cancer.

From that point,  there were more tests and specialist office visits.   Mike also had an MRI .  The MRI revealed Mike had a tumor in the back of his throat.   Cancer was also found in his tonsils and two lymph nodes.   Mike then had to be cleared by a dentist in order to start his treatment.   The dentist,  determined that due to the cancer,  Mike would need 10 teeth removed as well as fillings on some of his remaining teeth.   By this time,  Mike had already missed a lot of work.   Which placed a burden on his family financially.

On September 18th,  Mike began treatment.   He is having both radiation and chemotherapy,  at the same time.   As you can imagine,  this has already taken a toll on his body.   At this time,  Mike is unable to work as a Police Officer.   This is a job he loves dearly.   He also cannot work any side jobs to bring in any extra income.   We need Mike to concentrate on getting well,  not to be concerned about his finances.   I’d like to ask for your support to help with their financial needs.   Any donation amount would be helpful.

Mike has a beautiful wife,  Fateema,  and four smart,  funny,  athletic,  lovable children.   Michael JR.,  is a senior in High  School.  His oldest daughter,  Mikayla,  is a sophomore in High School.  Bryanna,  who is a type one diabetic,  is in sixth grade.   His youngest daughter,  Larissa, is in second grade.    Mike has always been the one to go above and beyond to help anyone and everyone.   Now  he is the one in need of help.

Our entire family,  thanks  you in advance,  for anything you can give to help cover the family ‘s out of pocket expenses.  Things such as medical bills,  medications for both Mike and his daughter Bryanna,  household expenses,  food and everyday necessities.
