I’m starting this GoFundMe campaign because I wish to record a professional quality product by hiring professionals to help me!
WHO
Hi there! My name is Lyle. I’m a session guitarist, song writer, singer, performer, and instructor in Seattle WA. At the age of 10 I picked up my first guitar, and have been hooked ever since. I have played in numerous bands throughout the years and continue to perform live, averaging 150 dates per year. I like to play everything from acoustic folk and country, blues, funk and soul, rock and heavy metal, even classical music. My life has been spent dedicated to this passion and hobby. If there’s a guitar involved I’m all over it.
WHY
I’ve been recording for many years, on my own and for many other artists and producers. I feel it’s time I turn over some of my songs into the hands of a producer and let them have fun with me and my music! I often find it difficult to get my own songs to end up sounding as good as I want them to sound, like the high quality of the pros. I want to finally have a small collection of original songs recorded that I feel really proud of how they turned out. By hiring a proffessional producer and engineer, I'm confident I'll achieve the quality I'm looking for in my songs.
WHAT
Over the last 3 to 4 years, I’ve been writing and recording new demos in my apartment on my computer, having fun and experimenting with arrangements and tones. The style in my heart is in the rockin' country sound. Sometimes I’ll perform stripped down versions of these new songs at live gigs and have received very warm responses from audience members. From these demos, I wish for them to be produced into top quality songs.
HOW
My friend for many years, Kelly Gray, a multi platinum producer and recording engineer, has always shown great interest in my abilities, and has agreed to produce this project for me. I’m really excited for this opportunity! I’ve been a huge fan of his, and truly respect his talent and his attention to detail. He will take care and oversee everything from reconstructing each song, where to record, who will play on it, mixing and mastering, everything!
COST
The costs for this project involves hiring professionals such as: the producer, engineer, studio rental, A list studio musicians, photographer for new promo, a graphic designer for CD artwork and promo, and CD duplication. All these things I’ve done in the past for myself, but it takes time and energy, and money. I want to focus on my parts, as the song writer, the guitarist, and the singer. Let the real pros help shape my music to a higher level than I could ever take it on my own, and compensate them fairly for their effort and time.
TIMELINE
I want to spend this winter and spring working on this, and have it completed by May 1st 2020. First would be narrowing down the 6 or 7 songs to be worked on. Then I’d have to ask the producer what’s next! He’ll be in charge!
WHAT I PLAN TO DO WITH IT
The songs will be on all the download and streaming sites, plus CDs available at all my live performances. Who knows, maybe one of the songs might be a winner and get into the hands of the right person and some magic happens? Always fun to dream. Bottom line is, I know I'll be proud and very happy of the finished product, unlike anything I’ve ever done before.
