My Fathers Dream

Donation protected
Today is my dad's birthday- he would have been 62 years old. Its been 4 years since he passed and for so long I put the things i loved on the sidelines in order to grieve and cope with the greatest loss I have ever faced. I have yet to visit this land because I never felt ready but now I am saving up the funds thanks to a new career change in order to travel to Peru  and begin the work to make this dream come true <3

My dad always wanted a farm of his own, he wanted to spend his days with his hands in the dirt, surrounded by his friends, children and animals. He was guided by his teacher to buy land in the Amazon in Peru....so he did. He flew over with thousands of dollars stuffed into his sock and sat on the plane next to a beautiful woman named Lily. They talked and he shared his story with her and why he was traveling to Peru and they became great friends. In the end when dad was sick, she was by his side assuring him that she would take care of the land that they ended up buying together. Today Lily, my brother and myself are all owners of this land.

On this land, in the amazon jungle, they built a house and they gave a home to a family who would care for it, and they began to plant the seeds of a beautiful dream that is Madre Selva Homa Ecovillage. This place was intended to teach others how to live sustainable lifestyles off the land- growing their own food and feeding their families. My dad hoped to one day have a school for children who could not receive a good education in the Amazon, those who had been left behind. My dream is to give a home to the animals who have been abandoned or abused and to use these beautiful beings to help teach the children and sustain the land. I know one day if I work hard I will make these dreams into reality. I know I am truly blessed and surrounded by people who will give back to this dream in many ways and I know many of you will spend time here because I am surrounded by incredible humans with many talents and things to offer. I know that now more than ever the world needs a place like this and we already have a beautiful home-base that was left behind by the kindest, most pure hearted soul I have ever known.

The main crop on our farm is Cacao- yup, that's right CHOCOLATE! and we all may or may not know that Peruvian chocolate is where its at! So the money raised will go to the growth and operations it takes to begin the business and export side of growing Cacao and one day funding our own Ecovillage and Animal Sanctuary. I put the bar VERY high- I don't expect to make all $50,000- But every dime raised will go directly to Fundacion Madre Selva Homa Ecovillage run by my father's business partner Lily who is an environmental lawyer and an absolutely beautiful being. Thank you for your time, thank you for sharing, thank you for being alive and holding the ones you love close to you everyday <3  I love you people.
