My Fathers Cremation by Naomi Luxem
Donation protected
I am beyond crushed and devastated to say that my father Michael Bert Baldwin had a stroke and passed away on April 21st at 65 years old. Our family is in desperate need of help to fulfill his wishes of cremating him. Our goal is set to $1,200 and all proceeds will go to Crown Cremation Company. Any further donations made after our goal has been reached will be used to organize my dad’s celebration of life- to honor the wonderful man my father was. We only have 2 weeks to meet our funds goal and proceed with his cremation. Crown Cremation is unable to start the cremation process until they receive payment. God forbid, but if we are unable to pay this company, my dad’s body will be donated to science. That is why ANY donation, no matter how big or small brings me and my family one step closer to bringing my dad home, starting the healing process and truly grieving our loss without having to stress about the cremation proceedings. Crown Cremation Services is the organization we are utilizing. If you don’t feel comfortable donating via this GoFundMe, you can call Crown Cremation at 503-345-7559 and donate by phone. If you’d like to donate in person, their location is 275 Lancaster Dr SE, Salem, OR 97317.
On Sunday, April 21st, 2024, the world lost an amazing father, brother, son, friend, uncle, musician and comedian.. Michael Bert Baldwin. As his only child, losing him was something I thought could only happen in my darkest of nightmares. Him and I were closer than any other father/daughter duo I’ve ever seen. My dad was always my absolute best friend, my role model, my biggest cheerleader and truly my hero. He was the most intelligent, cultured and unique individual I have ever come across, and I can truly say his warmth will surround me for a lifetime. He spoke directly from his heart, and could tell stories in such a vivid and engaging way that you’d feel like you were truly there, watching the memory he was recalling. He could read a room without anyone speaking, and also make anyone laugh with his animated personality and infectious humor and smile. He taught me everything from my ABCs, how to play guitar, how to live fearlessly and everything else I know and believe. I’ll never forget any of the things he taught me but recently since losing him, one of the main things on my mind that he said to me about the way the universe works and how we will reunite one day after this life as stars in the sky. He would tell me, “we are celestial souls living a human experience.”… and I cannot believe his human experience was cut short so unexpectedly. My father’s energy, spirit and DNA will live on in me forever. His knowledge about the things he loved such as music, art, movies, culture, nature and everything in between was incredible. In his 65 years he lived 100 different lives all wrapped up into one, and still came out on top. He was born in the deserts of Moab, Utah and throughout his life the desert is where he’d always return to. He performed in bands on stage in front of thousands of people and worked as a teamster at the Las Vegas convention center setting up amazing exhibits where he met many celebrities and had the time of his life- which was a beautiful yet crazy one. During his time in Las Vegas he met my mother and soon after, they created me which most who knew him would say that’s when his life truly changed and he felt he had a genuine purpose. Michael protected and gave all he had to his family and those he loved. He always told me “if I ever did anything right, it was creating you, babydoll” I could write another 100,000 paragraphs like this and it still wouldn’t feel like enough to truly put who he was and our bond into words. Since the day I was born he promised me he will do anything & everything in his power to give me the entire world, and that he did.
Dad, there will never go a day that your stories, our memories, your smile, and the love you endlessly gave to me won’t swirl around in my head til my last breath. “You and I against the world”.. Even though I can’t see you, I know you’re all around me and your blood is rushing thru my veins for the rest of my life. Can’t wait til we meet again. And like you told me, we will be forever next to eachother in the night sky, as stars. ✨
Sincerely, your “babydoll”, Naomi Luxem
