My family devastated by Turkey Earthquakes

Hi, My name is Sevim. Many of you may know me from my business, Turkish Delight Food Truck, located in Oklahoma City. I am not someone that normally asks for help like this, but the earthquakes that hit Turkey on February 6th have devastated many areas of my home country, as well as my hometown of Adiyaman, Turkey.

As of today, February 9th, my family has lost over 180 aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces and many, many more still missing and unaccounted for. This may seem like just too high a number to be correct, but unfortunately, it is correct. Please pray for the families impacted by this tragedy. Many of my family members are sleeping on the ground, in cars with no gas, or atop the rubble. The concern is that many will freeze or get hypothermia before any aid arrives. I plan to go to Turkey once the roads are more accessible and personally bring anything that is needed to Adiyaman and to the smaller towns and villages where many of my family members are currently struggling to survive. I hope to use any funds donated to purchase supplies, pay for short-term living quarters, blankets, water, food and pretty much anything that is needed. There are still no signs of any aid in so many areas. The government and the International community are helping, but it may be some time before the aid reaches the areas where my family is.

This fundraiser is for my family, as they have been struggling to make ends meet. Necessities such as food, clothes, and shelter are what are in need. The money raised will be used to help them get back on their feet.

We understand that times are hard and not everyone may be able to donate money, but please consider sending prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes because they too will help lift spirits during this difficult time.

I had no idea what the contribution goal should be….just so many are in need. I started with a $10,000 goal, if we only raise a couple hundred dollars, I thank you still, anything helps.
