Her dream of studying a Master in Music in Europe

My name is Nohelia Zambrano Gutierrez and I am a violinist. For many years I have dedicated myself to this marvelous art. Music is my life. When I think of music the first thing that comes to my mind is happiness. Music is my passion and it has given me the understanding of who I am.
I was born in Soledad-Atlantico, a beautiful place in the north of Colombia. My love for music started when I learnt to play the violin in high school and until today I have the same strong and deep feeling for it. I never thought that my life would have been completely changed by this instrument and I am sure there is a better future waiting for me somewhere.The reason why I love music so much is because I like to transmit to others what I feel when I perform. I use my music to heal and bring joy to souls. I will make any sacrifice needed to improve and I believe with certainty that if I keep working with love, discipline, commitment and patience one day life will give me what I deserve.
Now I am pursuing a new goal and it is one of the biggest dreams I have, which is studying in a great conservatory overseas. I have been able to develop my music level with little to nothing but I have taken advantages of all the opportunities that have come to me, doing the best I can to become who I am today. It has not been easy to make this dream come true. And I am very grateful for all I have accomplished in Colombia, however in order to keep growing and to get to a new level I had to apply for a Master in Music.
Earlier this month I have received an offer of a placement at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Drama in London to study a Master in Music. This is a stepping stone in my career as a violinist, because it is the opportunity that I have been waiting for.
Even with all my hard work, I am not able to afford a higher education and I do not want to lose the opportunity of studying in a great Conservatoire because I know I would develop my talent to the fullest being there. More than anything I will have the chance to do something for my country. I have a heavy duty to my family, to my city, to my people and I want to inspire those who have the same background as mine that they can fulfill their dreams too.
I also plan to advocate the relevance of the Caribbean coast´s folklore from Colombia through chamber music and symphonic music adaptations in order to bring our music to the world. I would be very grateful if you could help me to fulfill my dream. Many thanks for taking the time to read my words.

Mi nombre es Nohelia Zambrano Gutiérrez y soy violinista. He dedicado muchos años de mi vida a este maravilloso arte. Cuando pienso en la música, lo primero que me viene a mi mente es la dicha, ella es mi vida sin duda alguna. La música es mi pasión y es complemento a todo lo que soy.
Nací en un hermoso lugar al norte de Colombia en Soledad-Atlántico. Mi amor por la música comenzó cuando aprendí a tocar el violín en el bachillerato y hasta el día de hoy tengo latente ese fuerte y profundo sentimiento hacia ella. Nunca pensé que un instrumento pudiera cambiar mi vida completamente y gracias a ello estoy segura de que existe un futuro mejor esperándome en algún lugar. La razón por la que amo tanto a la música es porque a través de ella puedo transmitir a quien me escucha todo lo que siento mientras toco el violín, yo uso mi música para sanar y llevar alegrías a las almas. Haré cualquier sacrificio necesario para mejorar y creo con certeza que si continuo trabajando con amor, disciplina, compromiso y paciencia, un día la vida me dará todo aquello que merezco.
Ahora estoy persiguiendo un nuevo objetivo en mi vida y es uno de los sueños más grandes he tenido, el de estudiar en un gran conservatorio en el exterior. He podido desarrollar mi nivel musical con lo que he tenido en mis manos, aprovechado todas las oportunidades que se me han presentado en el lugar donde nacía, haciendo día a día lo mejor que he podido para convertirme en lo que soy ahora. No ha sido fácil hacer realidad este sueño y estoy muy agradecida por todo lo que he logrado en Colombia hasta ahora, sin embargo para seguir creciendo y llegar a un nuevo crecimiento, apliqué a varios programas de maestría fuera de Colombia.
A principios de este mes recibí la notificación de que fui admitida para estudiar una Maestría en Música en el “Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Drama” en Londres. Este es un gran peldaño en mi carrera como violinista, es la oportunidad que he estado esperando desde hace algún tiempo.
Aún con todo mi arduo trabajo, no tengo los recursos para financiar mis estudios y realmente no quiero perder la oportunidad de estudiar en un gran Conservatorio porque sé que desarrollaría mi talento al máximo al estar allí. Más que nada, tendré la oportunidad de hacer algo por mi país. Tengo un gran deber con mi familia, con mi ciudad, con mi gente y quiero inspirar a aquellos que han pasado por las experiencias similares a las mías, a que también tengan fe y esperanza para cumplir sus sueños.
También dentro de mis planes esta defender la relevancia del folclor Colombiano, en especial el de la Región Caribe a través de adaptaciones musicales para el violín, Orquestas de Camara y Orquestas Sinfónicas para difundir nuestra música al mundo. Estaré muy agradecido si pudieras ayudarme a hacer realidad mi sueño. Muchas gracias por tomarte el tiempo de leer mis palabras.
