My Daughter's Anorexia Treatment

Donation protected
This is extremely hard for me to put here. I rarely ask for help and even more hate having to ask for money, but I'm desperate at this point. One of my daughters has been suffering from anorexia since the beginning of last year. It has been a very difficult thing to watch and experience. She was admitted to an inpatient treatment facility in July of 2017 for a month. That month only ended up doing more damage than good (it was a terrible program), and she has been home since August of 2017. I have been trying to do my best to help her through this, but she needs professional help again.

On top of the anorexia she has super bad anxiety (which has made it impossible for her to attend regular classes and we have had to enroll her in a cyber program) and depression. I have done everything I can to help her, but I am not trained or have enough knowledge on what to do to help her through this and she is refusing to enter into another inpatient program. I have joined support groups and talked to many people. One of the most highly recommended resources is a program at UC San Diego. It is a 5 Day, outpatient, intensive family treatment program for the sufferer and caregivers (they say you learn over a years worth of knowledge in just 5 days). We would attend the treatment program together to learn adolescent coping skills training, parent training, and psychoeducation.

While I have verified with my insurance that the UC San Diego program is in-network and they will cover some of the cost - we are at the beginning of the year and I have a $3,000 deductible so they will not cover the entire cost of the program. I will also need to pay out of pocket for the airfare, hotel and other costs of the trip. I hate asking anyone for help or money, but this is my child's life at stake. Mortality rate for anorexia is 20% without treatment. I cannot lose my baby girl, and the last two weeks it has become clear that she is relapsing and spiraling out of control again.

My daughter does not know that I have put this page up as she does not like people finding out that she is going through this, which is why I did not add her name (or put just a pic of her on here). For those of you that know my girls and may know who I'm referring to, please do not mention this to her or discuss the anorexia with her.

I appreciate anything you can do to help out so we can get her to this treatment program.

Thanks
