My Dad Has Stage 4 Lung Cancer

My father has passed away on Thursday, August 3. We never expected the cancer to spread this fast. Funds will be used for funeral expenses.

First off, it is very difficult for me to create an account like this but I'm overwhelmed and am in dire need of help. I've always thought Go FundMe accounts were wonderful to help those in need and for the community to come together. I just never thought I would need to create one myself for a loved one. But I have sadly learned all too well that life has no guarantees. It has only been 6 years since I lost my 25 year old brother Clint.
My Dad, Richie went to the hospital July 13, 2017 after experiencing excessive coughing and trouble breathing. A cat scan was performed and showed a large mass in his lung that has metastasized to his colon, liver, and bones. The diagnoses is Stage 4 Lung Cancer with less than a 2% survival rate. We follow up with the oncologist this week but have already been told chemotherapy is not curative. When I asked the doctor just how bad it really was, he said, "It's everywhere." My Dad is 61 years old and unable to work now. He's in moderate pain that his oncologist will work on managing. My Dad has always had a caring heart and was unsure about me creating a page like this. But I know he needs help and will appreciate it if we are able to ease some of his worries. My Dad planned on retiring in just a few months and had many plans to travel, spend time with family and friends, and relax while enjoying retirement. This sadly, and very abruptly, has been cut short which he is struggling with on top of depression and anxiety.
Funds will be used for living expenses, medical costs that insurance does not cover, and a short bucket list my dad is creating like visiting his childhood friends in Delaware and going to Colorado. Remaining funds will be used for funeral expenses.
Every little bit helps, even sharing this page helps. If funds are an issue and you'd like to still help, please provide prayers to ease his suffering and provide comfort. Thank you very much for your support. I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.
