My Dad and Mom #2

Cancer, as many of us know, can be a life-changing event.  In our family, we've recently had two life-changing events. My Mom #2 Martha (Beck) Word was diagnosed with a very aggressive, rare cancer.  After her chemotherapy, she started radiation, and at that time, my Dad Richard Poindexter, Sr. was diagnosed with cancer..... lymphoma to be exact.  Unfortunately, as a contract employee, Dad did not have health insurance.

Many people have been touched by cancer, so I don't have to tell you the enormous expense incurred in addition to loss of wages while not working.  Dad is not able to work, and recently Mom was diagnosed with metastasis and has started treatment all over again. Our tight-knit family is doing all it can to help, but it's hard to catch up when there is so much money going out for continual medical testing, treatments, necessary medications, monthly bills and groceries but not much coming in from social security.

We've never had to ask for help before, but we're asking for help now. Please pray for Dad and Mom, and if you can donate, a little would go a long way. Thank you, and God bless!
