My Big Hair Cut For Cancer!

So that amazing lady on the left is my Mum! Some of you might know that Nola was diagnosed with Breast Cancer a little while back and those of you who know her well, you will understand that she is one of the strongest and most caring people I know (with a wicked sense of humour!).
She has been through a lot and her journey is not over yet, as she requires treatment once, every 3 weeks, for the rest of her life. Yep that's right, forever! The staff at the clinic know her well and her smile and positivity every single time we visit is admired.
Not much gets my Mum down, but losing her hair was one of those moments. I could see the impact it had on her and can only imagine what others experience. As such I have been growing my hair since the day that she lost hers (nearly 3 years ago now) and will be cutting it off in June to donate it to make a wig for someone who needs a confidence boost, to try and help someone else with a journey that is not an easy one!
I told Mum about my goals and she would like to make a special mention to her Breast Care Nurse - someone she refers to as her Angel. Breast Care Nurses supported by the McGrath Foundation not only provide support and encouragement to their patients through what can be a tough time, but they are a critical part of someone's life.
The funds raised will go towards a few things, first will be a donation for the McGrath Foundation to help provide much needed funds for a Breast Care Nurse, my hair will go to Variety along with a donation to make a wig for someone in need and some will also go to my Mum to assist with her treatment and transport costs.
I'm looking forward to June (even though I'm a bit nervous - I've become quite attached to my long locks over the years!) and would like to thank you all in advance for your support.
