<div>On the morning of October 7, I awoke to a tumultuous turn of events unfolding around me. With uncertainty gripping the streets, I made the decision to remain indoors, deeming it the safest refuge to safeguard my life.

<div>For two months, I remained confined within the walls of my home, gripped by the fear that venturing outside would expose me to peril.
</div>
<div>With our lives hanging by a thread, my family and I made the difficult decision to relocate to the Al-Mawasi area, overlooking the sea.

<div>We cannot remain in my home due to the incessant, terrifying sounds that rattled its very foundation.
</div>

<div>Orders from the military to evacuate the area only intensified my apprehension. Amidst the chaos, my primary concern remained the safety of my home, fervently hoping that it would remain unscathed amidst the upheaval.

<div>Winter compounded our plight with relentless rain and biting winds, leaving us vulnerable to the elements without adequate resources to stave off the cold. Tragically, the militarized closure of our area prevented us from returning to salvage the remaining necessities from our home. To my dismay, I later learned that our house lay in ruins, obliterated beyond recognition.

<div>Feelings of despair and frustration engulfed me as I grappled with the helplessness of being caught in circumstances beyond my control.

<div>Fleeing the horrors of war, death, and unfathomable destruction, my family and I sought refuge in Egypt, armed with a meagre sum of 15,000 dollars in search of safety. Our small group, comprising my mother, brother, his wife, and their infant daughter, embarked on a journey fraught with uncertainty and fear.
</div>

<div>Currently, we reside in rented accommodations, desperately striving to navigate our way out of this harrowing predicament and begin anew. As a special education teacher, the conflict robbed me of my sole means of livelihood. Even in the event of peace, the revival of educational opportunities will likely be a protracted process, prolonging our financial instability.

<div>With a heart weighed down by a mix of hope and despair, I reach out to you from Gaza, specifically Khan Yunis. Our city has been engulfed in the relentless horrors of war, leaving behind a landscape of desolation and despair. The devastation inflicted upon our homes and lives is beyond comprehension, and the urgency of our plight cannot be overstated.
