G’day Legends,
My name is James Walker and I have recently been selected to represent Australia at the World Ultimate Junior Championships in Waterloo, Canada. The open team ‘Thunder’ and Women’s team ‘Terra’ have been going to WJUC since 2004, making this the 8th time Australia has sent a team to this tournament, since then many world class players have come out of these teams.
Why do I need your help?
Unfortunately Ultimate Frisbee isn’t all that big, which consequently means that most expenses are payed for by the athletes themselves this is due to the lack of sponsorships and funds that Ultimate Australia receive and as you can imagine going to Canada isn’t going to be cheap, especially as I am in Year 12 and can't work as much as I would like to. The expected cost is around $5000 which includes Tournament Fees, Food, Flights and transport, Team merchandise, Accommodation and other small costs which add up.
