<div>Hi, my name is Maddy and I’m a 23 year-old single mother fundraising for my 4 year-old daughter who was just recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in the form of a tumour (Medulloblastoma) within the back of her brain (the medulla - the coordinating part). She had brain surgery on January 26th and although 95% of the tumour was removed, the rest of it will have to be treated through chemotherapy for the next 7-9 months with only a 40-50% success rate when it comes to curing her disease forever. If the tumour comes back later in her life, it’s most likely to come back in the location it was originally but it can also come back in other areas of the brain and spine. Her treatment will hopefully be starting around Valentine’s Day.

<div>It would mean the world to us for us to not have to worry about funds throughout her treatment, especially as we’ll often be having to fly back and forth from cities. Our family is tight on money considering the new situation and I also haven’t been receiving regular child support payments due to the fact that my daughter’s father is struggling financially as well, so that makes it all the more difficult. All funds raised will be used towards flights (to and from BC Children’s Hospital), food, and general medical care for the long and extremely difficult road ahead of us.
