Andrea's life saving treatment

Donation protected
In March 2010, at the age of 35, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy and thought that I was going to be ok. However, in March 2013 I was told the devastating news that the cancer had returned and that it was now in my bones and my liver. I was told I didn’t have very long to live.

I am a single mother to 5 amazing children (aged 9, 11, 12, 15 and 20) and my first thought was for them. How could I tell them the news? How does any mother tell her children that she might not be there to see them grow up? I decided that day that I would do everything in my power to be around for them as long as possible. I wasn’t prepared to accept the death sentence the doctors had given me, and I carried out extensive research to look at how to prolong my life.

That was two years ago and I’m still here! I’ve done as much as I can for as long as I can, but now I need your help. I need to raise £25,000 for treatment that isn’t offered in this country. The money will pay for a 4 week stay at The Angeles Clinic where they have very good success rates treating people, even with advanced cancer like mine. A link to the clinic and the treatment it offers is here

Asking for financial support is a last resort for me and something I never thought I would do. I have just put my house up for sale, where we have lived for the last 10 years, and my family are doing all they can to help me. However, this may take months, and I know that I need the treatment now.

If you are a parent yourself, you will understand that I will do anything to have longer with my children. I strongly believe that this treatment will give me the best chance. It will make my disease more manageable, so that I can spend more good days than bad days with my children. On 13th March I will be 40 years old – please help me to reach my target by then.

Even if you can only afford to donate £1 this still helps. £1 may not make any difference to you, but if enough people donate and share my story those pounds will add up - and will make a life changing difference to me and my family. So please share this with everyone you know and donate what you can. Thank you.
