Granny's medical fund.
I know how important your grandmother is for you who are reading this, as my granny is to me. I am Victor Ricardo. I'm originally from Venezuela and I live in the US since 2009. I am Emilsen's grandson. My grandmother is in a bad situation at this time and that's why I need your help. Always so healthy she has never needed anything medically related up until 3 months ago. After having issues going to the bathroom, and having tests done it was discovered my grandmother is suffering from Colon Cancer or an Adenocarcinoma. She lives in Venezuela which is a positive and negative situation. It is positive as we could be able to assist with the medical costs and we would be able to get funding for it (with the help of anyone that could help). However, it is still difficult as some of the requirements and medical supplies for the procedures needed are not found or cheap in our country(that's also a reason for needing funds). It has been told to us by her surgeons she has two routes of treatment (all this depending on the stage)
Initially it'd be recommended to have a surgery to remove both tumors and a reconstruction of the colon walls. Otherwise she would have to have a colostomy (horribly called a poop bag). The postoperative treatment would be chemotherapy to eliminate any possible remainings of the cancer. The 2nd route of treatment would be to start with the chemo to attempt to reduce the size of the tumors and then proceed with the surgery. I cannot express how hard this situation has been for our family members. Specially for my retired nurse grandmother that from day 1 has known the seriousness of her situation. It's hard for me to come to this methods to help my family, but at this time nay assistance is greatly appreciated as funds are needed as an emergency. If you are unable to assist I'd appreciate if you could share the post with as many people as you can. This would help us spread the voice and reach as much people as possible. I'd keep updating this as we hear from her doctors in order to keep you all up to date. The funds will be used to cover part of the treatments and procedures needed by my grandmother. They will be sent through bank transfers to other relatives in Venezuela who will be handling my grandmother's medical matters.

Se que tan importante puede ser tu abuela para ti que estás leyendo esto.... la mía también es importante para mí. En este momento mi abuela no esta en su mejor condición y por esa razón me gustaría solicitar su ayuda.
Siempre mi abuela ha estado buena de salud en general. Nunca mi abuela había tenido necesidades médicas que requieren nuestra ayuda hasta ahora. Hace 6 meses mi abuela empezó a tener dificultades para ir al baño. Sin pensar que era algo de seriedad y como tampoco era frecuente decidió simplemente observar más no revisar. Hace 3 meses el problema fue más contante y tras hacerse ciertos exámenes de rutina descubrimos que sufre de un adenocarcinoma en el área del recto. Ella reside en Venezuela que tiene tanto ventajas como desventajas. La ventaja es que al vivir en Venezuela con el cambio Bolívar/Dólar podremos ayudarle a costear todos los gastos médicos y gastos subsecuentes (contando con la ayuda de todos ustedes). La desventaja es que algunos insumos médicos necesarios para algunos de los procedimientos discutidos con sus cirujanos son casi imposibles de conseguir allá. Más sin embargo se pudiesen buscar alternativas en países vecinos como Colombia y lo cual no sería tan económico. Esta de nuevo es la razón por la cual agradecería yo y mis familiares cualquier asistencia de su parte.
Ha sido discutido con nosotros por sus cirujanos 2 posibles rutas de tratamiento. Esto va a estar determinado por los resultados de una biopsia realizada para indicar en qué estado o etapa esta el cancer. Es decir, indicar que tan avanzado o temprano fue descubierto el cancer. Este resultado sería entregado aproximadamente el 1 de Agosto. Inicialmente recomiendan hacer una cirugía para remover ambos tumores encontrados y reconstruir la pared del colon o recto. Esto último para evitar que mi abuela deba usar una colostomia (vulgarmente llamada bolsa para excrementos). Tratamientos posteriores serían quimioterapia sus para terminar de eliminar algún tipo de células cancerígenas. La segunda ruts de tratamiento sería empezar por la quimioterapia para reducir el tamaño de los tumores y luego is proceder con la cirugía. Palabras complicadas que solo indican lo difícil que ha sido la situación par ala familia sabiendo que mi abuela siempre ha sido el pilar que nos sostiene. Aparte ha sido también muy difícil para mí abuela quién es enfermera retirada con más de 40 años de servicio. Esto significa que desde el día 1 ella ha estado en conocimiento de la situación por la que está pasando. Es difícil para mí requerir de esto de métodos para poder asistir a mi familia, sin embargo es necesario debido a la gravedad y rapidez en que los fondos son necesarios. En este punto simplemente les dejo saber que cualquier ayuda que puedan proveer será eternamente agradecida. No necesariamente tuviesen que ayudar económicamente.
