JP with Brain Disease-UPDATE- CJD

Donation protected

JP needs our help! My son’s father, Jean-Pierre, has recently suffered a brain injury that has left him in a really bad state. Day to day he struggles with re-learning to write, much confusion, depression, memory loss and not being able to do the simple things in life that we take for granted. Just making his own lunch takes him a couple of hours. He aslo just lost his father a few days ago, which has put him in a very sad place.
Yes, he is my ex-husband, but he IS my son’s father, and I am not one to turn my back on anyone one that needs my help, regardless who they are.
I learned that he is living in a very small space, because of not being able to work, and about to be evicted from there. I have stepped in and helped him with Doctors’ appointments, tests by Neurologists, Social services and health insurance, but there is only so much my son and I can do on very limited funds. I have been out of work for a while and recently got a job offer in San Luis Obispo.
I do not live close to JP and I have been planning to move to San Luis Obispo to work and be closer to my son in March of 2015. My son wants his father, JP, to move up there also at the same time, because he has no support (friends or family) here in San Diego and my son wants to take care of his dad and help me with more doctors’ appointments, retests with neurologists and whatever else needs to be done to figure out what is happening to his brain. He does not want JP living alone in San Diego. Not safe at all.
My sister, Bea and her husband, Bobby have beem helping me out a lot here in San Diego, which has been a blessing...but it is not a burden to put on them.
Like I told Connor, my son, "We are a tribe" and will always take care of one another.
My son and I cannot afford to move JP and what little items he owns and get him settled for a couple of months until he starts bringing in some income.
He is still able to do his landscaping for work, which he loves to do and be outdoors. The only time I really see him happy! He plans on continuing working when he arrives in San Luis Obispo. My son already has a few jobs waiting for him.
The funds to get him settled would include the U-haul truck to move and tow his broken down car (hopefully find a way to fix it up there), Gas for the U-haul, rent for 2 months (plan on finding him a room to rent in a private house until he can afford his own studio or little house), cost of getting our son down here on the Amtrak so he can drive the U-haul back up, some money for at least 1 month of living expenses... Gas, if he gets his car fixed, to start working,  food for Kaya (his dog and friend), miscellaneous items , and storage for a few months for items he owns that he would not be able to fit into a rental room.
I am selling off all my belongings just to pay for my move and struggling at that, and I just don’t have the finances to help JP. Connor is a student, so financial help is not available from him. I greatly appreciate you reading this!
I completely understand if you cannot donate, but sharing my fundraiser would be greatly appreciated!
Best wishes and Love,
Virginia and Connor
