HURRICANE IRMA
My wife and my 2 children live 67 miles from BARBUDA, on the little island of St.Kitts. Originally from Canada, I have never experienced a hurricane. As we spent close to a week preparing, the storm did not reach us at its full force. After seeing the devistation in Barbuda a day later, it hit me that I need to do something for the people. After growing up on a continent where we take so many things for granted such as medical care, government support, gasoline, a carton of milk....... something needs to be done.
At best the country will need to 150 million USD to rebuild. These are the estimates before, the next hurricane JOSE hits on saturday sept 9th.
Every cent will help for the people of Barbuda. Every piece of clothing, childrens books, medical supplies, building materials, anything anyone can think of that most of us take for granted everyday....
would like to thank everyone for their support thus far. My family has been working with our communities and the rotary club in Bolton and global logistics to raise much needed items for relief. At this point in time we have raised upwards of 750k worth of clothing ,shoes, bedding, books, school supplies, diapers, baby items, baby formula, school supplies, these items will bring relief to the people after losing so much. I have been in touch with ms.nedd chairlady of the Barbuda counsel and she has advised to use the funds to pay for the shipping of these items from Toronto that need to be loaded on rail to st.johns and boat down the Atlantic to Antigua to be dispersed to the citizens of barbuda. I would like to thank My family, the browns, the furgusons, Mullen's, rotary club of bolton, global logistics and alliance mercantile for all their hard work as the soldiers in toronto. And without all your donations all of these items wouldn't have a chance of even making it onto a boat. Thank you all for your generosity We are all truly blessed to have what we have
