Jordon S Cancer Fund

Jordon’s Journey began Christmas night, 2014. She started complaining her knee was hurting and she was not able to sleep that night and it kept getting worse.  Three days later, her parents decided to take her to the ER for xrays.  It was a long 3 hours at the hospital.  The xrays showed nothing, so the doctor wanted to do bloodwork. When the results were done the doctor expressed concern with her white blood and platelet count.  He informed her family that he would send a blood smear down to Boise for further tests.

December 29, 2014 Tonia started the day with the call that would change her family’s lives forever. The doctor from Boise who reviewed the blood smear was concerned it was Leukemia and wanted the family to come down to Boise ASAP to do a bone marrow test on Jordon to confirm the diagnosis. That was a call Tonia and Tony will never forget!  The next day was a long grueling day at the hospital in Boise.  Jordon had the bone marrow test done which came back positive for Leukemia.  Due to the fast moving cancer that she had, Jordon was admitted to the hospital for treatments on New Year’s Day.  Jordon had a lot of pain now in both knees and in one arm. It was moving fast through her little body!  The next five days were intense.  Jordon had surgery to have a port implanted to use as a main feed line for  meds and blood draws. This implant will have to stay in her body for the next 2 years or so until she is done her treatments. They also did a spinal tap and  injected the chemo while she was sedated. It was a very difficult day  for everyone, but Jordon's body responded very well to the process!

It has been a couple of months now and Jordon is doing so well.  Her journey is far from over and the most difficult days are yet to come, but she still has a sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face.  Tonia has expressed her gratitude to all the community members, friends, and family who have rallied together to offer support and love.  This gofundme campaign was started to raise the money to buy Jordon a really nice wig, since her hair is starting to fall out.  Our goal is to keep her spirits high, that smile on her face, and that sparkle in her eyes as she continues this very rough journey.  That is what communities do for each other!

Well, we got the money for the wig and then some! Tonia has expressed her gratitude to everyone for their help and prayers.  We truley live in an amazing community.

The wig was just one of the things Jordon will be needing to help her on her journey.  We don't even know what she will be needing next, so we will keep doing fund raising to help out with other tools she will be needing, medical expenses, and travel expenses.  They do the 2 hour drive to Boise every week for treatments.

No donation is too small, every dollar helps!  Donations can also be made directly to Jordon's account at Idaho First Bank in McCall (all funds from GoFundMe go directly into this account as well).
