Stick with Rick!
Rick (James Richard Kinyon) is an amazing, 33 year old man with so much of his life ahead of him! He was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the stomach in February of 2015. He started having pain in his abdomen and vomiting. He went from 185 lbs. to 129 lbs. in less than 2 months. After trying to get him to go to the hospital, and the hospital repeatedly said he was just suffering from the flu, he was finally admitted into Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the testing began. After 2 long, agonizing weeks, Rick was diagnosed with a very rapidly growing adenocarcinoma cancer of the stomach with around 20 active tumors on the stomach wall. He was losing weight very rapidly and nothing was staying down. We have since realized that his stomach is almost completely blocked from the tumors.
The road from here is long, winding and uphill. Rick is ready to fight that fight! His outlook is unbelievable!! His sense of calm and his entire outlook about this disease is the most amazing part of this story!! Ricky needs all your support, love and prayers!! The life that he used to know is no longer a reality, the reality is that now he will be traveling to and from Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa daily, getting chemo and/or radiation treatments.
Rick is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and graduated from USF! (Go Bulls!) This fraternity is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character. And Rick is a genuine testament to this statement! His morals are impeccable and his dedication to anything that he ventures to do is unlimited.
No matter how you know Rick, you know that you have a dear person as a friend! Please help him fight this horrible, cruel disease!! Rick has an amazing support system in his family and great friends and we will continue to support him through this fight!! But we need your support as well!!
Anything that you could donate will help with his medical bills, the daily trips to and from the cancer center and everyday necessities, such as food and gas. Everything that is donated will help greatly and go directly to Ricky for his medical bills or whatever he deems necessary!
