Musician Saul Rayo Needs Support to Fight Cancer

Saul Rayo is a well known musician in Nevada City, CA alongside his beautiful wife Elena Rayo. 8 months ago Saul started to have health problems concerning his colon, he was trying to treat the imbalances on his own but the symptoms kept progressing.  Last week he went to the hospital and had a colonoscopy, he was diagnosed with a mass called an apple core rectal tumor, which came back as cancer.  Saul has been one of the main supporters of the Nevada County music scene for 25 years. He has organized and performed in countless benefits, including benefits for fire victims, homeless shelters, friends in need with health issues, for SYRCL, KVMR, Sierra Harvest, and many other local organizations. He has performed literally thousands of shows both locally and internationally and has always donated at least a portion of the proceeds. Now he is needing some assistance for himself and is most grateful for your support. 

The recommended treatment  for this kind of tumor is surgery or radiation if they think the tumor is too large. His treatments will be starting immediately if he decides the surgical route. In the mean time Saul and his wife are considering going to India to a Ayurvedic Hospital where he will do a Panchakarma (a 5 step purifying process). He is planning to leave in May for treatment or earlier if possible. 

All donations will go directly to Saul and Elena for cost of treatments. The treatment center Saul is considering does not accept medical insurance. A big portion of the donations will go toward their flights to India and his stay at the hospital, which can be anywhere from 1-3 months depending on the treatment plan they propose to him.  All other funds will go to living expenses, as Saul will not be able to work until he regains his strength and health, which will result in no income at this time.
