Music makes things better

WHAT HAPPENED?
Late on Sept 10, 2018, Aquarian Charter School had a break-in to their music portable classroom. These disrespectful individuals made a mess of the place, stole some Aquarian property but more importantly they took the personal property of two teachers, Ms. Julie and Ms. Serena. Both of these dedicated teachers had brought in to school their own instruments to encourage, energize and inspire our kids.

A police report has been filed out, insurance has been notified, the pawnshops and craigslist are being watched, and measures have been put in place to prevent this from happening again.

HOW YOU CAN HELP?
The Aquarian PTO would like to help make Ms. Julie and Ms. Serena whole again by replacing their stolen instruments—we are asking for your help!

Please donate what you can, share this link far and wide with your friends and family, and ask for their support as well.

With a whole bunch of small donations, we can hit the “do over” button on this whole experience. The funds raised here would go to the Aquarian PTO and that organization would then write checks for the replacement value of Ms. Julie and Ms. Serena’s instruments. The PTO would also replace the stolen Aquarian property as the value taken is below the school district’s insurance deductible.

THE BIG PICTURE?
We know as a parent of a charter student there are many asks made upon you: from driving and classroom volunteering to supporting carnivals and bake sales but this is a special opportunity to show our kids how to react to adversity and  how important our teachers are to us. The PTO recognizes this is above and beyond and we thank you in advance for your support.

The day after the break-in the music classroom was closed so the police could inventory what was taken and dust for prints, but music class still went on. It was moved to Ms. Lisa’s room where the kids sang and danced because music always makes things better.

THANK YOU
