Community Hall for Tanzanian School

My name is Kade McClelland and I'm currently in Year 10 at Barker College. Later this year, I will be travelling to Tanzania, East Africa, as part of the Global Immersion program. As part of this trip, I'm raising money to help give the children of Tanzania a quality education as well as to help build a community hall and music room within a part of the 'great slum' of Tanzania.

I am working with Global Immersion to help raise money to be able sponsor a Tanzanian child living in severe poverty which will put them through 2 years of secondary schooling. This education will be invaluable to their growth and development, and will then allow them to pass on this knowledge to other members of their family. The money will also suppot Mandela, Azimio, and Kaloleni Primary Schools which are located within the area I will be visiting, as well as Kibera’s ‘Mirror of Hope’ program in East Africa. I will also be lucky enough to actually meet the child who's education I am helping foster, an experience I'm sure I'll remember forever.

As well as this, the money I will be raising money will help fund the construction of a new community hall where the local people that live in the great slum can come together and enjoy life together. This money will also go to the people of Kibera to build them a music hall, as music is one of the biggest things that unifies the tribes of Africa.
Another part of this trip will involve me helping teach in schools that are located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as organise an athletic carnival for the kids of the school. Some of the students who I'll be spending time with on my trip will be joining me in climbing 20,000 feet to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, where we will be able to witness one of  the greatest views on earth.

My adventure begins in December and during my 19 days away from home I'm hoping I will be able to gain a greater appreciation for how people in Tanzania live, as well as contribute to bettering the everyday lives of some of the poorest people in the world.

I thank you in advance for any donations big or small you may provide as you are helping to change the lives of families and their communities in this beautiful third world country.
