Free Instruments for Kids

Hello friends! My name is Jasper, and the picture you saw is my partner Jimmy, a musician playing for children in a local elementary school. We both grew up in Taiwan and feel strongly about equal opportunity for children.
大家好！我是Jasper，照片裡為台中當地小朋友們演奏音樂的是我的夥伴Jimmy。我們都是在台中長大，在美國念過幾年書，我們都希望小孩能夠有公平受教的機會！

We want to raise funds to provide instruments for children so kids from less privileged families can have the chance to study music, develop interest and enrich their lives. We often don't realize it, but the opportunity to do and learn things that bring us happiness is often a luxury for people. We believe music will help children discover themselves through self expression. Music also guides them on a path of self-discipline and open doors to different cultural perspectives. In a world filled with conflict and misunderstanding, we believe music to have the ability to break down boundaries and draw people closer to each other. These are things that we hope every child can have regardless of their back ground.
我們希望能夠替家裡經濟比較需要幫助的小朋友募一筆款來買琴，讓他們有機會能夠學習音樂，培養他們的興趣以及充實他們的生命！我們可能沒有注意到，能夠擁有機會去學習、去做會讓自己快樂的事對很多人來說是一種相當奢侈的一件事。我們相信音樂能夠幫助孩子們透過自我展現的方式去發現自己。音樂也會引導他們擁有自律的人生，也提供他們能夠以不同的視角來看待多元文化。現今社會充滿著誤解和衝突，我們相信音樂能夠把人與人之間的隔閡卸下，讓彼此親近。我們希望每一位孩子，不論家庭背景，都能夠享有這些由音樂帶來的益處。

Providing free instrument is our first steps! We hope to buy our first set of instruments-18 pianos, 18 cellos, and 30 violins. We are also working very hard to set up a music workshop that provides affordable music lessons and a desirable workplace for talented musicians. Our goal is to build a sustainable scholarship program that will support under privileged students. We hope that the scholarship program will support kids to come into our workshop for a more well rounded education, which will include ensemble improvisation opportunities, we believe that will encourage kids to imagine, create instead of playing what's written and being told what to do. In addition, our workshop would strive to fulfill the highest level of social responsibility by offering completely free learning program in rural area, community concerts that will eventually blend music with the local culture.
提供免費樂器只是我們的第一步而已。我們希望能夠先買第一組樂器-18台鋼琴、18把大提琴、以及30把小提琴。我們目前正在努力設立工作室，一方面能提供合理價位，減輕現實面上的學習負擔，另一方面我們也要提供一個良好的工作環境給音樂家。我們的目標是提供設立一個獎學金，讓背景比較不寬裕的小朋友也能夠學音樂，讓他們能夠來我們的工作室學習音樂創作，即興演奏，鼓勵小朋友們能夠去想像，去創造，而不是只是一味的彈奏那些已經被編曲完成的音樂。我們也會以最高標準來履行社會責任，包含我們要去學校裡提供課後教學、去偏鄉免費提供課程、定期舉辦社區音樂會，將音樂與在地文化結合，讓音樂走入群眾，也讓群眾走入音樂。

郵遞區號:40351是我用我家地址填寫的，雖然顯示的是美國肯塔基州（因為他們的郵遞區號也是40351），但是實際上這個活動的舉辦地會是從臺中市西區開始。


We arrived at the figure $20325 by (18 elec. pianos*$700/unit+ 18 cellos*$180/unit+30 violins* $75)/.89 (dividing by .89 because of the fee). We looked up the price from Amazon/Best Buy. 我們的$20325美金這個數字，是用18台電子鋼琴(一台$700)，18把大提琴(一把$180)，30把小提琴($75)，算出來的。價格參考美國亞馬遜網站(Amazon)和百思買(Best Buy)。除以0.89因為會收手續費，5%給了GoFundMe網站，2.9%和$0.30/每筆捐款 給了WePay這個中間商，$0.30/$10 (我一開始假設一個人捐款是捐$10) 是3%，所以給WePay大約是5.9%。一共有大概10.9%的手續費。
現在很多朋友們都很支持我們，都捐至少$20美金，所以我們的手續費會下降變成9.5%，這筆錢之後會從美國轉回台灣，也會花手續費，我們會把這筆款項的流程，在之後都公佈出來。
