Music Education Camp

My goal ever since the beginning of ninth grade was to be able to further improve upon my dream of becoming a professional cellist and being able to attend the Brevard Music Camp this summer would be a huge step in reaching this goal. Unfortunately there is only one problem with this and with mostly everything else in the world: Money. To attend this camp costs a lot of money; a lot of money my family doesn't have, but with the help from many of you out there, this unbelieveable dream of attending such an amazing camp, may actually be possible. This camp lasts six weeks long and begins on the twenty-first of June. I am greatly dependent on the support of everyone out there because of the challenge my mom faces with being responsible for the finances of everyone in my household. She is the only source of income for a family of five people and cannot afford the expenses of my great passion for the cello. To make matters worse, she needed surgery this January to remove a cancerous tumor and wasn't able to earn her normal paycheck and got behind on bills for two months while she recovered. The original cost for this camp was almost $7,000. I was able to earn a merit based award and I will also participate in a work study program while I attend.  This has reduced the tuition of the camp in half resulting in a total of $3,650 that I still need to pay, although they require a payment of an $800 deposit by March 3rd. It would mean the absolute world for me if everyone could pitch in to help me attend this camp. I have attended cheaper camps in the past that are local, but none of these places offered me a real challenge.  I really want to push myself in an environment where I play with others who are even better than me. I love the cello so much, and it is the only thing I wish to pursue a career with and with the help of you guys this may actually be possible. A lot of people have supported me in my life so far, but I want to especially thank my dad for all of his generous support of my passion and everything else he does.
