"Many secrets of Art and Nature are thought by the unlearned to be magical." Sir Francis Bacon

I, Richard Audd, have been seeking funds to finish and distribute the volumes of my "serious" music. This GoFundMe also covers additional  recording music for composers and those who wish to donate to other music projects by Richard. Background: I have a Master of Music Degree in Composition from the Eastman School of Music. I have traveled and performed from Hong Kong to Paris.

"I long for instruments obedient to my thought and whim, with their contribution of a whole new world of unsuspected sounds, which will lend themselves to the exigencies ["urgencies"] of my inner rhythm." Composer, Edgar Varese, June, 1917.

I have two previous "commercial" CDs that eventually were sold out (“a new light ~ christmas” and “Somewhere Over”). Both are still available as downloads at CD Baby. They demonstrated my unique way of producing the sounds of a real orchestra. This uniqueness allowed me to win first place in two international competitions in 1997 and 2002. I also received grants in 2010 to record the music of three Native American composers. Other commercial music has been a part of award winning videos.

The first volume, Music by Audd Vol 1, has been sent to donors. Over $500 has been raised against the needed amount. (Two people sent checks rather than use GoFundMe.) Vol 1 included a separate CD with “ChorDrum” teasing Vol 2. To listen to excerpts from this CD Vol 1 go to https://youtu.be/VJO8_GCWsPc  .

Vol 2 contains more of my music and should be available by 10/1/18. All CDs are hand-made and will be autographed. Minimum donation is $12 for CD and shipping. The total of $1500 will cover the finished recordings and pay for 50 of each CDs to be distributed through CD Baby which distributes music to all of the major online music websites. Here is a video of excerpts from Vol 2: https://youtu.be/abQ89ztiZIw  .

Vol 1 reviews are coming in. KT: “AMAZING ALBUM!!! Just received it. Love it.”  D and J: “Loved it” (“ChorDrum”, the teaser for Vol 2). Dr. A (composer/Eastman): Minimalism was a surprise for him. Loved “Questions” and wanted more of “Ride and Storm”. EG: “[A] beautiful and amazing gift of music.”

All of my music was written over the years in Tulsa Edison Prep High School (2 premieres), at Oklahoma Baptist University (several premieres) and at the Eastman School of Music (many premieres). A Curriculum Vitae is available at my website:  http://www.rmamusic.com/Resumes.htm  . Other works were written after moving to Los Angeles.

Please share this with friends who would be interested in new and original music from an award winning composer. I remind you that I am a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation.

The National Endowment for the Arts’ next budget – if approved – will be ZERO. Additionally, the new Tax Act harms all the arts (music, art, poetry, museums, orchestras, PBS, NPR, no more deductions for items to support artist’s costs, etc.). As a composer, I will no longer have access to grants and support that had been available in previous decades. As a result, requests such as this for the direct support and creation and distribution of new music will become the only means for many artists to survive. If you do not wish to support my creative endeavor, please find another creative individual or organization to support.
