Survivors of Suicide and Friends -Murray Marathon

Donation protected
On Sunday, 31 March, 2019, I am participating in the Murray Marathon, a 42.2km route in Albury, NSW.

I am running to raise money for an organization called Survivors of Suicide and Friends.

In 2011 my cousin Mary Baker suicided.  Her death devastated Mary’s family Annette, Stuart, Jack and Henri and her extended family and friends.

In 2013 Mary’s parents Annette and Stuart established “Survivors of Suicide and Friends”, an organisation aimed at bringing the subject of suicide and mental illness into the public forum, to finally be addressed without shame or stigma.

They chose the evening of the 2013 Winter Solstice to come together in Albury to do this.  The response was overwhelming and it is now an annual community event that welcomes everyone.

The evening gives those affected by suicide a chance to gather together on the longest (and often coldest) night of the year, to be entertained by musicians and dancers, enlightened by guest speakers and supported by everyone attending the event.

The money I raise from your generous donations, will go towards some of the cost of running this free community event.

Please donate today.

Thank you
