Send Pat Murphy Back to NY

Donation protected
Dear Friends of Pat Murphy and Molly and Carly Pomeroy:

As many of you know, Molly and Carly Pomeroy’s parents went through a long, protracted and devastating divorce beginning with a separation in 2011 and a final loss of their Montara home, cars, and just about everything the girls ever owned by 2013.

The girls were facing foster care until their mother’s oldest sister, Pat Murphy, decided to come out from NY and stay with the girls until they finished high school surrounded by their friends and neighbors in Half Moon Bay.

Now both girls are off to college and Pat wants to go back to NY to be with her own two children and her two granddaughters whom she has missed these past three and half years.  We, Susan George and Sandy Gleichmann, along with several other friends, want to help her get back home.  Pat lost a lot coming out here to care for the girls: her apartment, located in the Hurricane Sandy flood zone, sold at below market value leaving her just enough to cover the balance on the mortgage. She sold her 12-year old-car and gave up her job to take care of her two nieces.

To help her return to NY, we have set up a “GoFundMe” account at [email redacted] where you can make a donation.  Also, we want to invite everyone to a special “Say Goodbye to Pat Murphy” event we are holding at Pasta Moon on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

We hope to give Pat the money she will need to pay her rent at a modest studio apartment, purchase a reliable used car, and survive until she finds a full-time job. We hope you will be able to make a donation to this worthy cause. If you are as technically challenged as we are, you can mail a check to Sandra Gleichmann, 413 St. John Ave., HMB, CA 94019.

Pat insists that she would do it all over again to help the two nicest, most loving girls she ever met. We believe her and want to encourage such courageous acts of kindness by showing her that we support her efforts and wish her the best.
