Munson's Ethiopian School Feeding

So my friends Gary and Felecia Munson whom I have known since I was 7 or 8 (just a few years ha, ok actually over 38 years) are involved in an amazing food program feeding 24,000 kids a day 5 days a week. Yes, you heard that right!
There are 24,000 school aged kids who are getting a healthy meal once a day in southern Ethiopia from this program.
I have been watching their journey through face book, but I never really grasped it until they were at my dinner table and we were talking about life. The stories that Gary and Felecia shared were mind blowing.
The Munsons have been living in Ethiopia for the past 8 years, but the food program just started 2 years ago. A farm in Canada donates dried vegetables (a 40 foot container) that is filled with 18 million meals which lasts about 4 months.
The food is free, but the container has to be shipped by boat to Djibouti, then trucked to Addis Ababa, then trucked to Hawassa, and then trucked to 22 individual schools.
Once the food is delivered, water has to be brought in by donkey daily to make the meal and rehydrate the vegetable soup for the students. Each student has a bowl and spoon (which have already been purchased)
to eat their meals.
Since the food program started, the children’s attendance at the schools has increased. The meals provide an alternative to kids running away and living on the streets because of limited food and water.
Their last container of food is expected to run out on July 1st, 2017. They need to order the container and pay for the shipment (which takes 6 weeks to get to Hawassa) now in order to make the July 1st date. They need a true miracle to provide for these kids.
Most of these kids only eat one meal a day since there are limited food and water supplies. Please consider donating to get the food to Ethiopia. This is a direct way to make a huge impact with people who are right there doing the work!
