Help Luke Carmichael Fight Cancer

As most of you know Luke has been diagnosed with Stage 4/ Gleason 9 Prostate Cancer...  Luke is very young for this stage of prostate cancer..    I've been so ignorant of this disease,   It's often said "men don't die OF prostate cancer, they die with it".. because it's a very slow growing cancer but it's also true that prostate cancer is the 2nd leading cancer related death in American men...  this is because some men, like Luke, have aggressive prostate cancer.  PLEASE - ALL OF YOU GUYS READING THIS, OVER 40...  when you schedule your next blood test, please have your doctor check your"PSA"  level.   Most men diagnosed with prostate cancer have very low risk cancer and then there are the few men that have very difficult to treat cancer and I read that  it's one of the most complicated diseases in medicine...  They grade "pc" on a "Gleason Score",  10 being the worst,  Luke's is a 9....  his prostate is nearly solid with cancer.  The bright side, no sign - yet- of it metastasizing... I said "yet" because there is no test  that indicates if just a little cancer leaked out,  pretty messed up I'd say.  Since it was so close to  going outside the prostate gland, they treat it as such...  “why remove the prostate when we have to do radiation anyway”.   Next, if nothing else, hopefully this will send most of you to have your PSA level checked,   the first course of treatment for a guy with advanced prostate cancer is "ADT"  Androgen Deprivation Therapy, a drug called “Lupron”...  it's liquid castration, it's used now instead of removing the testicles by stopping the production of testosterone...   it’s a horrible disease!!!   Currently, Luke has a treatment plan with Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and you can appreciate the tests and treatments that are required will have a huge financial impact on us.   We are going to beat this with your help!!  Luke has been blessed to have been accepted into a trial.. He will have 2 Brachetherapy, it's 18 needles directly into the prostate, Internal Radiation every day for 6 weeks and  4 Immunotherapy  Infusions (the trial drug)  along with the Hormone  Therapy  Infusions every 3 months for the next 3 years and all of this is being done over in Tampa…  Since he’s in the trail, all of the medical treatments have to be done in Tampa and they pay only for the trial drug , really nothing else... I found it odd that they don't help with transportation or a hotel room for the night while over there but we are so very grateful that he was accepted and thought that Go Fund Me would be the place to go for help with all of the expenses....  Luke's selling his custom built chevy 1977 chevy C10 to help    Please help support us through this incredibly tough time..  Even the smallest of donations will help, but if you can’not donate, please share this message…  We thank each and everyone in advance for your help!!!
