Helping a Mummer in Need

We've received several requests to set up a Go Fund Me page for folks that can't attend the Beef N' Beer on June 24th to help the Rosen family offset medical expenses.
For those of you who don’t know Gary, he became a Mummer in 2011 after a call to action from local DJ (and longtime Mummer) Jacky Bam Bam looking for volunteers to help. He spent 3 years in the Fancy Division with Golden Sunrise, where he won First Prize in Handsome Trim and became Secretary of the club. In 2016, Gary moved to the Comics, joining the South Philly Wenches. Many folks in the area also know Gary from his work with Kisses for Kyle ,and Mummers Against Cancer.
In February 2016, Gary suddenly lost his vision caused by a rapid spike in blood pressure. The past 16 months have been a slow road to recovery. While Gary has gained partial vision, but is still unable to drive or work. While doctors continue to treat his vision, but there is no guarantee that his vision will be fully restored.
For this reason, Gary has applied for treatment, known as Therapeutic Electrical Stimulation, which originated and is currently performed in Germany. Our goal is to raise at least $3,000 to help defray the family’s cost of treatment and travel-related expenses.
We hope that you will consider donating to support Gary and his family in this effort. For those of you that can attend, we'd love to see you on the 24th at the Beef N' Beer. The event is from 7-11pm at the Mummers Museum (2nd and Washington). Tickets are available for $35 and include beer, wine, soda, and buffet. There will also be a DJ, door prizes, 50/50 and basket auction. Tickets must be purchased by June 17th and will be available for pick-up at the door.
