Ciao, mi chiamo Alessandro Monsellato e vorrei mettere su carta un'idea che mi tormenta da tempo, sviluppata giorno dopo giorno durante lo scorso anno, in seguito ad alcune vicissitudini che hanno stravolto la mia vita e quella della mia famiglia.

I have developed this idea day by day during last year, after many events upsetting my life and that one of my family.
Il 7 agosto 2019, mia madre ci ha lasciati a causa di uno spietato quanto devastante tumore all'apparato digerente, dopo 10 mesi estenuanti di andirivieni tra Lecce e Roma per terapie, visite e ricoveri. In tutto il periodo appena descritto , non ho potuto fare a meno di notare lo stato di totale abbandono in cui vertono i malati, proprio in un momento così delicato. Abbandonati, non solo sul piano burocratico (come si può pretendere che chi lotta per la propria vita possa barcamenarsi tra certificati, richieste, permessi, ecc...?!?!), ma anche sul piano fisico e psicologico. Probabilmente, a causa del sempre crescente numero di richiedenti cure, le strutture già esistenti non riescono a svolgere al meglio il proprio lavoro, rispondendo alle richieste di aiuto in modo approssimativo e insufficiente.
On 7th August 2019, my mother left us because of a fierce and devastating cancer of the digestive part after ten exhausting months of coming and going between Lecce and Rome for therapies, medical examinations and hospitalisations. In this period, I couldn’t help noticing the patients’ total dereliction in such a difficult situation.
Indeed, they were abandoned not only bureaucratically but also physically and psychologically.
How can these patients be worried about medical certificates, requests or permissions? They are already fighting for their lives!
Probably, the already existing facilities can’t best organise their work because of the ever increasing number of patients. Consequently, they reply to the patients’ requests for help in an approximate and scarce way.
Ecco che MUM - Oncological Personal Trainer and Mental Coach entra in gioco in maniera del tutto gratuita al fianco dei malati, perchè preparare il fisico e la mente agli ostacoli della chemio e della malattia può giocare un ruolo importantissimo nell'esito della cura.
That’s what MUM – Oncological Personal Trainer and Mental Coach – can do: my project comes into play free in support of the patients. If they prepare themselves physically and psychologically to deal with the difficulties of both the chemotherapy and the cancer, this can play a key role in the outcome of their therapy.
Come si sviluppa il progetto? Creeremo una squadra di professionisti (personal trainer, mental coach, fisioterapisti, nutrizionisti e psicologi) in grado di seguire i pazienti a 360 gradi dal punto di vista fisico e mentale. Essi, naturalmente, dovranno essere in grado di interagire ed interfacciarsi con i medici per poter stabilire insieme a loro il percorso ideale ad ogni tipo di situazione.
How can we develop this project?
We will create a team of experts (personal trainers, mental coaches, physiotherapists, nutritionists and psychologists) in order to take care of the patients totally, both from the physical and psychological point of view.
Obviously, these experts shall be able to interact with the doctors in order to choose together the best path based on each different situation.
Di cosa abbiamo bisogno? Questa raccolta fondi potrebbe aiutarci a realizzare il progetto. Abbiamo bisogno di una sede idonea ad accogliere i pazienti, di macchinari per ogni tipo di terapia oltre ad un budget destinato a fronteggiare ogni tipo di spesa legata ai trattamenti e alla struttura. Con il vostro supporto potremmo dar vita a questo progetto temerario.
What do we need? We can realise this project thanks to this fundraiser. We need suitable headquarters to host patients, equipment for the therapies and a budget earmarked for every kind of cost related to both treatments and facilities. With your support we could give life to this temerarious project.
