<div>In May 2021, that is, 3 years ago, my parents, Hajj Saeed and Hajj Maysoon, were martyred. I survived certain death and emerged with moderate injuries when an Israeli plane launched a raid on a car that was taking us to my sister’s house in search of a safer place. <strong>This incident was written about by the American magazine </strong><a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-commentary/israel-palestine-jewish-american-support-1172309/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Rolling Stone</strong></a><strong>.</strong>

<div>I got married before the war and prepared a beautiful house. I lost the house and my workplace. In the first week of the war, they were completely destroyed. We became homeless. Our lives were turned upside down. I was displaced and moved with my wife, and every time the bombing was close.

<div>After more than eight months of genocide to which we are exposed, there is no safe place, everything is targeted. Every day we live is like a new life. Every hour, innocent lives are lost, families are torn apart, and the future is shattered. We pray every day that this does not happen to us.

<div>During the war, I gave birth to my first child, under very difficult circumstances, and I named her Maysoon, after my mother, who was a martyr. My wife was exposed to what pregnant women in the Gaza Strip were exposed to, including malnutrition and lack of health care.

<div>My wife, Aya, and I, alongside our child Maysoon, who has entered her third month, is displaced and moving from house to house, without shelter, without a home, under the terrifying sounds of bombing. We find ourselves trapped in this dark nightmare. Every moment is a struggle for survival. I do not dream of anything but escaping this hellish reality after... I lost everything and found safety and refuge elsewhere and a better future for Maysoon.

The Rafah crossing, the only lifeline to escape to Egypt, requires 20,000 euros to pass through the crossing gates and to cover travel expenses. These exorbitant fees are beyond our capabilities, and yet they are our only hope for salvation.
