Mufasa's Emergency Surgery Bill

Only a few days ago, Mufasa was following me around at home meowing, loudly, to be pet and cuddled. Currently, he's in the hospital recovering from 2 major surgeries. And even there, he's been nuzzling the surgeons and generally winning over all of the veterinary staff with his funny squished face and friendly demeanor.
Mufasa (or MufNut ,as he's affectionately known) became severely ill on Wednesday with a blocked urethra. This is a true emergency for male cats that can lead to kidney failure in a day or two. I'm very lucky that my veterinary technician recognized the potential problem over the phone, and she told me to bring him in immediately. Simply unblocking his bladder was not an option, as it turned out that Mufasa's bladder was full of stones just waiting to cause the problem again. Thus, the surgeries.
After losing a pet suddenly and unexpectedly almost 3 years ago to the day, I couldn't fathom coming home without my MufNut. Especially when the vets said that with surgery, Mufasa was extremely likely to recover and live to be an old man (cat).
So, I took the plunge. And I couldn't be happier that he came through the surgeries beautifully! He will be home with me soon.
Some wonderful friends encouraged me to put together this campaign to help with the costs. I typically shy away from asking others for help, let alone money. However, I would be incredibly grateful to anyone willing to donate a small amount to help Mufasa (and me) recover from this emergency. The full cost is well over the amount listed here.
