We (Haley and Anna) are reaching out to our loved ones and friends with a request for help for one of our closest friends of over 20 years.

Our dear friend is a single mother in a very difficult custody battle. This battle has drained her financial resources to the point where she is forced to live in a shared living room in an unhealthy environment, and now is considering selling her vehicle as a last resort. Her vehicle is not only her source of transportation, but also is essential for her side jobs she takes to secure income (door-dash, Uber, etc…).

Our friend works every moment she can, with and without her young child present. She takes extra jobs to supplement her income, but at the moment, it’s just not enough and she is truly struggling to make ends meet.

We are posting this anonymously as this friend has been through so much emotionally and continues to fight for herself and her little one every day. Out of respect for her privacy, we won’t be sharing more details about her families struggles, just please know that we wouldn’t ask if this person didn’t truly need help.

Our goal here is to try to provide our friend with enough financial support to find new housing, and to feel safe and secure in her living situation. We also would like to prevent her from having to sell her car, which would be devastating as a single parent with no local help/resources to call upon.

As the saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child”…unfortunately this person doesn’t have a village, just herself. Please help us create a village around her. She’s a beautiful friend, with a heart of gold, a beautiful child, and just needs a bit of help right now.

-If you’re aware of available housing in $0-$1,000 range, as long as it is safe and private. She is open to shared, long term or reasonably transitional. Please share leads. She would love any housing leads in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, and as far south as Ojai/Ventura if it's an appropriate fit. She is also able and willing to make reasonable trades for lower rent (like childcare, pet sitting, house sitting, admin help, etc.)
