Getting Dora as the care giver for my daughters is one of the best things ever happened to us. It didn’t take a very long for Dora to become part of our family from being just a

Care giver. She brings so much energy to work and always inspiring that it’s very contagious, not to mention she also helped us with Monday morning blues.

I still remember the day i got a call from her in the afternoon (that’s very unusual of her calling in the middle of the work) and mentioning that she is not well and have to go to the Dr's right away

She later found out that she is an advanced state of Uterine Cancer: Carcinoma Sarcoma. Our hearts broke when we heard about her cancer.

Not only is this a devastating news to Dora, but this also makes her not being able to work and financially support her family while both the kids are in the college.

At this difficult time in her life, we want to stand by her and support her to beat cancer. Please donate and help her during this tough phase of her life.

Dora's story on her own words:

Ever since my earliest years as a nurse in my country of origin Colombia, I developed a special bond with children. This love was strengthened with the years, especially with the birth of my two children Carlos and Jennifer. As I raised my own daughter and son, my passion for children grew. On June 25th, 1999, my husband and I made the decision to migrate to the United States with both of our then very young children, to search for a better life and opportunities for our family.

Although there has been challenges both personal and professional during these past 18 years in the United States, there has been also blessings as well as opportunities such as having been able to work in the care of children which has been my passion. During these years, I have developed many beautiful relationships with the parents whom I have worked with as a nanny, along with having many endearing memories.

Furthermore, having the opportunity to work with Mr. Vijay and Mrs. Bindhu in the care of their precious daughters for the past 13 months has blessed me with their most sincere friendship. Their compassionate hearts have made me feel part of their family. Even, when days presented challenges during the working hours the rewards far superseded them; to see the innocent and beautiful smiles of their two daughters as they greeted me in the morning at my arrival brought such joy to my heart.

These parts of my life has been interrupted on December 17th, 2017 when I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Uterine Cancer: Carcinoma Sarcoma. At the present moment, I am undergoing both Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments which prevent me from working for obvious reasons.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents of both Rishita and Rheya for their generous display of affection, compassion and support during this very difficult time of my life.
