Ken's Recovery: Medical Expenses

This is a very challenging time for everyone.  Kenneth Broadway, spouse and father of 2 adorable adopted children, has had a very rough past few years. After years of back pain, he finally found relief through back surgery! This, however, was a journey in recovery. He had a spinal fusion, and was hospitalized for 3-4 days and out of work during recovery for 3-4 months.  His previous employer sold the therapy dept. to a contract agency, and he had to "start over" in a new position at a new employer. This was not working out the way he planned, so on his way to a new job interview, he was involved in a car accident (head on collision) with a totaled almost new car, another hospital visit, more time out of work, and no new employment.  It would be months before he regained full time employment.  After some stabilization time, we finally felt like we were getting a routine down and getting our act together, so to speak.
We are now faced with a new and totally unexpected challenge....Ken was dealing with what we thought was the flu, but ended up to be much, much worse. Ken developed a Strep A infection in his leg, which yes indeed is the flesh eating bacteria. He developed necrosis (dead tissue in his leg) which resulted in a massive infection requiring surgery & a large open wound, high fevers, with IV antibiotics. He remains in the hospital & he Will be out of work for an extended period of time. It appears as though another surgery will be needed, which is More wound healing and an extended healing time and time out of work. As much as I dislike this option, I feel it is the best way to keep my family and my children stable, and healthy. I can't tell you how much it means for all the help, thoughts, and prayers we had received this far. From the bottom of our hearts, the Broadway family thanks you! ❤️
