Medical Emergency

We are a family of four, my father, mother, brother, and me. Previously My father was Software Engineer by profession and  he left the Job because of his serious health issues. Our wellbeing was utmost importance for him, and he did whatever he can to keep us educated. Until he seriously fell ill and was hospitalized, we did not realize that he was putting our dreams and wellbeing in front of his own personal health.

He has been very unwell for months, especially and ran out of his diabetic medication and he rationed his medication to fulfill our education needs. My mother was not informed any such things and we all are just realizing the sacrifices he has chosen. In the recent days, after weeks of continual vomiting every day and excruciating pain in his upper stomach, we took me to hospital and was admitted to the E.R.

After several weeks of observation, the doctors explained that he experienced cardiac arrest, change in heart rate, oxygen downed to 60%, abdominal pain (due to lack of food), and Pancreatitis (elevated Lipase to 1500). Swelling of pancreatitis attributed to stress control medication use and his Hemoglobin A1c was 16.1 corresponding to a blood sugar of 524 on average over the last three months.

At this time, we do not know when he will recover to full health. My brother and I being kids and our mother being a housewife, our hard-earned earnings from my father have elapsed and we do not see any future. We were just told by doctors that my father will need some surgery.
My brother goes to High school and I go to college. We decided to take a break from education to help our father with medical bills. We need help and with lot of distress and emotions, I have reached out to my father’s close friends. We are reaching out via this platform seeking help to meet our father’s medical needs. We do not mind holding off on our education until our father fully recovers.
