Karina Fares Memorial Fund
A community is shattered with the passing of a beautiful daughter, sister and friend. Karina was salt and light wherever she was, it was an honor to witness a spiritual giant at her age. Her beauty was only surpassed by her servant's heart, her intelligence was the foundation in her humility. Her music filled hearts. She lit up a room when she walked in it. She honored her parents, and is her brother, Mark's, hero. Let us walk besides your family as we mourn her passing and celebrate the beauty she graced all our lives with.
A few words from her best friend McKenzie:
"My name is McKenzie Peay. Karina Fares was really something. She was my very first friend when I moved to San Diego. We did so many things together and created beautiful memories. It is heartbreaking to hear what has happened to my amazing friend.
Karina was kind, determined, talented, musical, and creative. I will miss her personality so much. I remember one time for sixth grade camp we were selling entertainment books for a fundraiser. Karina sold more than enough books to let her go to camp. She probably could have got extra prizes or whatever but instead she gave her extra orders to me. This helped pay a good portion of my camp, and I am very grateful for her kindness.
Karina was very musically talented. Throughout her life she played the flute, clarinet, piano, guitar, violin, and bassoon. She was good at all of them too. I loved listening to her play. She was a gymnast, and a swimmer. She had played soccer too. Karina loved to draw, and act. She participated in so much. Karina was very smart and very outgoing.
I will certainly miss Karina. I feel lucky to have met her. Even though she will no longer be with me physically, Karina will always have a place in my heart."
On Wednesday, February 18th, Karina was involved in a (non-vehicular) accident and sadly did not recover from the injury. We have set up this memorial donation fund to help raise money for funeral costs & final expenses.
