The Millennial Theatre Company, an official 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization founded in 2016, works to bridge the gap between youth and adult community theater opportunities for young adults ages 18-35 (Millennials). The organization aims to create theatrical experiences that speak to both actors and audiences of the Millennial generation, although all generations will appreciate the generation-relevant content that the organization seeks to provide The company had hoped to produce a full season of musicals, consisting of Shrek the Musical, Heathers the Musical (5 year anniversary show), Be More Chill, The Rocky Horror Show, and Hairspray. COVIC-19 has forced the theatre to cancel all plans for their 2020 season in concern of the health and well-being of their patrons and actors.  The goal of this campaign is to secure funds to offset the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has left their production of Shrek the Musical in limbo. Tens of thousands of dollars were spent on the production, and the uncertainty of when we can return has forced the Millennial Theatre Company into a tight financial spot. How Your Donation Can Help  Many members of the Millennial Generation have found a difficult time getting involved in theatrical leadership roles, most of which are almost always exclusively reserved for older members of the community. The Millennial Theatre Company seeks to provide an outlet for Millennials to take on these leadership roles, while also providing audiences with theatrical experiences that reflect and speak to the generation's experiences, interests, and values. This can be evidenced in the company's mission statement; "Producing quality theatrical experiences with, for, and of a generation". The Millennial Theatre Company is also hoping to extend its reach beyond the traditional staging of a musical. The company also hosts educational workshops, geared towards the Millennial Generation, to help prepare actors for the stage. Although programming is designed with Millennials in mind, individuals of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend all Millennial Theatre Company events. The company is also working with young artists to produce locally written work, written exclusively by members of the Millennial Generation.
