It has been an eventful year to say the least for one of our patients,Peter Mastrogiova
nni. It started last March 2018, when he was let go from his job of 22 years at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America. This coming only 3 months before he was to be married for the very first time to his finance,Dawn Nahoum. They got married on June 23rd. 
After having a terrific summer together, Peter decided to go for his first colonoscopy, since he just turned 52 and it was about time. He did not receive the news he expected. They found a small football like mass in his colon that turned out to be STAGE 4 Colon cancer. Peter and his wife Dawn took it in stride and started there journey to recovery by going to Mt. Sinai hospital in Manhattan. Just before he was to start chemo treatment to shrink the tumor the doctors discovered that his cancer had spread to his liver. He was set up for immediate liver cancer surgery in January. He then started chemo for 3 months before having surgery to remove tumor from his colon in May. He is now recovering at home and will require another surgery in 3 months to reverse the ileostomy. His condition will have to be monitored life-long. He now needs your help to cover the medical bills that his insurance was not able to.We all know what joy and fun Peter has brought to our lives.He has touched all of us in a unique and distinctive way, Lets show our support by helping in this cause.Peter just completed his third surgery of the year,on August 30 th,the reattachment of his intestine.He has a 4-6 week recovery which will be followed by 14 more weeks of chemotherapy.He also has multiple quarterly follow ups with liver,colon and prostate surgeons.He is fighting this battle head on and giving it up to his higher power,JESUS CHRIST,in his constant fight to beat this.Peter will start his second round of chemotherapy on Friday November 15th,2019. He is scheduled for 14 weeks of chemo that will take him well into 2020. Keep him in your prayers.
