Matthew's Bone Marrow Transplant

Hi my name is Shawn Jones and there's a couple that's true and dear to my heart, I consider them my family, Matthew and Becky Stephens. They are true believers in The Lord God our Father, continuously growing in faith, centered in Christ, and always serving God's world with love!
On June 3rd, 2014, Matthew was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis (MF). Myelofibrosis is a rare bone marrow cancer in which the marrow is replaced by fibrosis scar tissue. It disrupts your body’s normal production of blood cells. MF is an uncommon type of chronic leukemia, a cancer that affects the blood forming tissues in the body. The resulting fibrous scar tissue formation leads to severe anemia, weakness, fatigue and an enlarged spleen and liver. Matthew’s spleen was three times the normal size.
On July 15th, Matthew started a 'myelofibrosis study' at MDA and has been asking the Lord to help shrink his spleen so that he could go ahead with a bone marrow transplant. One reason that Matthew and Becky (his wife) have prayed this is because the medicine he was on is not a cure, and they didn’t know what other damage it might be doing to him (masking symptoms). The only cure (outside of a restorative healing) is a bone marrow transplant. They prayed that if the Lord wanted them to go ahead with it, that he'd provide a donor (sibling), and that he'd shrink the spleen. God has provided a full match donor, his sister, his spleen is shrinking, and insurance approval for the transplant! God is good!
Please pray for Matthew and Becky as they move forward in this long process of "trusting God" one day at a time through chemo, the transplant, and healing. The transplant will be taking place on October 13th 2014 at MDA. He will have to stay in the hospital for 30 days, and have to be close by the hospital for 60-90 days after that for immune building, fighting infections, check- ups, blood work, etc. Even with health insurance, the medical expenses are already significant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
