We zijn Leen en Lies, 2 zussen die “gezegend” zijn door Multiple Sclerose, en in 2019 gaan we de Dodentocht in Bornem uitwandelen.
We mogen van geluk spreken dat we elkaar hebben, maar ook dat onze gezondheid voorlopig nog goed is. Hier maken we dan ook gretig gebruik van om te blijven doen wat we graag doen: de uitdagingen opzoeken. In 2017 hebben we samen met 56 andere MS-patiënten en de crew van Comopsair de uitdaging aangegaan om de Mont Ventoux te beklimmen, genaamd “Comopsair goes MS”.
We hebben onze tocht aangevat met extra bagage. Niet alleen de ziekte, maar ook bijkomend gewicht in de vorm van een volledige brandweeroutfit en een gewichtsvest.
In totaal zamelden we maar liefst €5500 in voor de Nationale Belgische Multiple Sclerose Liga vzw! Het is een ervaring om nooit meer te vergeten en we zijn tot op de dag van vandaag nog supertrots op de prestaties van ons en onze mede-MS-Warriors, die nu vrienden voor het leven zijn.
Op 19 augustus 2019 gaan we onze volgende loodzware uitdaging aan: de Dodentocht in Bornem. Dit keer zonder extra bagage, maar wel met éénzelfde missie. We proberen zoveel mogelijk geld in te zamelen om te schenken aan MS-liga Vlaanderen, zodat we zoveel mogelijk mensen kunnen helpen om hun dagelijkse strijd te verlichten.

We're Leen and Lies, two sisters who are 'blessed' with Multiple Sclerosis, and in 2019 we're going to finish the Dodentocht (a 100 km walk within 24 hours)
We're very fortunate to have each other as a support, and our overall health is still pretty good. Thanks to this, we can still do what we like to do: searching for our limit. In 2017 we succesfully climbed the Mont Ventoux together with 56 other MS-patiënts and the crew of Comopsair.
Reaching the top was one thing, but we did it with extra luggage: not only the disease MS, but with extra weight. My sister did it in full fireman gear and I had a weighted vest that's used during Crossfit.
A grand total of €5500 was gifted to the National Belgian MS League to support our fellow MS-warriors! It's an experience we'll never forget and we're still super proud of our accomplishment. Not only did we gain the experience but also friends for life.
On the 19th of August 2019 we're going to stand at the starting line of the Dodentocht in Bornem. Without extra weight this time, but with the same vision and mindset. We're going to try and collect as much money as we can to donate to MS-liga Vlaanderen so we can enlighten the daily struggle of many people.
