This family needs our help...
We have a small team of Volunteers who went into the remote south of Vietnam during November 2017 to build critical infrastructure at a small remote school.
Close to the school we have found this family. The mother (Ms Ha) is 44 years old and she lives with her 5 year old Daughter (Vi). Her husband passed away three years ago...seven months later her 2 year old son drowned in the river next to the house leaving her to raise her only remaining child alone.
Adding to her situation is her health. She has a medical condition that affects her internal organs and leaves her with little energy. Her doctor has informed her that there is no current treatment available.
The house in the photos below is where they live...it has a leaf roof with gaping holes all through it, the walls are severly damaged, and a mud floor. This area has severe storms all throughout the year and thier house is obviously damaged each time and requires repairs each time, but they have no means to do this.
Every day the mother crosses the river that her son drowned in, to take her daughter to school and home.
Her beautiful daughter is clearly the inspiration for the mother's existence and what gives her the strength to carry on each day, hoping for a better life for her daughter in the future.
With income of up to $75 per month when the mother's health allows her to work as a general labourer, this family has little hope of a better life.
This family needs help and we want to build them a new basic house. We will have to work hard with our next volunteer team to get the job done in the allocated time, and we will need to raise $10,000. This will cover the cost of a new house, secure the land around the house and the river bank.
We are asking if anyone out there could help by donating anything that you can afford...$10, $50, $100...
If we can get the money, we can give them hope for the future.
Everyone deserves a decent place to live.
