For Julie - our beloved fighter...

On the 27th of January 2015, Julie presented to the North West Regional Hospital Emergency Department with suspected gall bladder pain and a potential lung infection. She was admitted to hospital for further testing. 

A CT scan revealed she had pneumonia in her only working lung. 

What would follow was a three-week long battle which involved time in ICU and eventually resulted in her moving into a palliative (end of life care) ward.

For those that knew Julie well, health battles have not been an unfamiliar territory with Julie beating both terminal lymphoma and meningitis among other things during her life. But she faced every single battle with the convinction that "when there is a will, there is a way" and she fought courageously to keep her position here on Earth. 

Unfortunately, this latest complication was a battle that there wasn't even the slightest chance of her winning.

Despite this, she didn't give up and fought until the end, passing on the 16th of February, 2015.  

Julie did not hold a life insurance policy nor a funeral plan. As such, we have opened this gofundme account for the purpose of raising funds to cover Julie's final expenses. Thank you to those who have already sent flowers and cards, should anyone else be thinking of doing to same, please consider making a donation here instead. 

There will be a private cremation today (20/02/2015).
