Monster&Sea 24hr Cancer Paddle VAN

Spende geschützt
Dear Friends of the Sea,

In the early spring of 2015, 6 people in Seattle paddled for 24 hours to raise some funds for families who are dealing with cancer. Their goal: stuff 5 envelopes with $1000 each, and put those envelopes in the hands of people who could use some help at a really tough time. Through generous donations and support, they blew past their goal and raised over $7000. Seven envelopes stuffed, seven families with some extra help to battle cancer head-on.

Going back a few years earlier, cancer chose the wrong family to mess with, it didn’t have a chance. Monster & Sea was born in that time. Troy, the man behind the brand, watched and supported his wife Angie as she battled not one, but two forms of cancer simultaneously. They won that fight. The monster was cancer, and the sea was where Troy found inspiration and strength. He decided to live life to the fullest every day, and to encourage others to do the same, to Go Because You Can. Monster & Sea became more than a brand, it became culture, a philosophy, and a force that created a community that reaches across the continent.

This spring, on Easter weekend, there will be 7 teams, paddling in cities across the US and Canada. We’re honoured to be paddling for 24 hours here in Vancouver as part of this amazing event, to help some local Vancouver families in their fight. Where does the money go? That’s for the families to decide. This isn’t about research, this isn’t about finding a cure, this doesn’t go to a charity. This is cash, in an envelope, put in the hands of folks who need it. It could help pay the utility bills, or buy some groceries, or maybe take the family away for a weekend to get a break from the chaos.

Thank you everyone for your generous support; know that your donations are going to a place that will make a difference in people’s lives. We also know that support comes in many forms, so if you are unable to make a donation, we welcome you to come out and join us to paddle a lap around False Creek, hang out with us, bring your “heck yeahs” and “hoorays” to keep the stoke going for 24 hours.

Please join us:
Where: David Lam Park, False Creek, Vancouver
Start: Saturday March 26 8:00 AM
Finish: Sunday March 27 8:00 AM

A sincere thank you from the Monster & Sea 24 Vancouver team
