Ms. P (Annie Broomfield-Peterson)

Hello, my name is Christine Lynch

My dear friend Annie Broomfield-Peterson had her entire life upended in a moment. On September 2nd, 2022, the Mill Fire, in Siskiyou County burned her home to the ground. Sadly, she lost all of her photographs and personal items. Fortunately, she and her son, Johnathan were ushered to safety with only the clothes on their backs. If you have seen the news coverage you know that she is the sole care provider for her immobile child. This has been devastating and life-altering. They have no furniture, bedding, dishes, personal items, or clothing.

Imagine being in that situation. Even a small donation will help her to recover from this tragedy and be in a better position to take the next steps in rebuilding her life.

What follows is an excerpt from a news report according to NPR :

“Annie Peterson said she was sitting on the porch of her home near the Roseburg facility when "all of a sudden we heard a big boom and all that smoke was just rolling over toward us."

Very quickly her home and about a dozen others were on fire. She said members of her church helped evacuate her and her immobile son. She said the scene of smoke and flames looked like "the world was coming to an end." (NPR )

Annie Broomfield-Peterson has lived her entire life in Weed, California. Known as Ms. P, She is a staple of the community, an active member of the Wayside Church, and an employee of Weed Elementary School. She has spent many years serving students, and with her guidance has aided generations of children throughout her career.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to return the love she offers to us in her greatest hour of need, as she has spent her life lifting others?
