Jacquiela Dorsey's Medical Fund

Our daughter, Jacquiela, loves helping people live life to the fullest. She has devoted herself to educating and mentoring young people. Even as a third grader, she would reach out to others to listen and provide advice on how to talk to parents.

She has set high standards for herself and her siblings. Jacquiela has a bachelor's and two master degrees with a focus on creating mentoring programs for communities in Louisiana. She has also spearheaded several fund-raising efforts in support of these very programs.

Now she needs support herself--Jacquiela has been diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer. We need help paying medical bills that are mounting quickly. She has had numerous MRIs, tests, labs, procedures and surgeries up to this point. She needs constant monitoring as well as several treatments scheduled over the next year. Doctors have said she will need some type of treatment for the rest of her life.

Jacquiela has worked hard to provide for herself without being a burden to others. She has strived to live a life of independence. She works as much as her health allows. However, after the surgery on April 18, 2016, she will need to be off work possibly for several months. She has moved in with her Mom to save money so she can pay her medical bills. She's not one to simply wait for assistance. Jacquiela is striving to do her part, even with the cancer. She moves a little slower these days, but she's still giving back to the community.

Jacquiela doesn't have children of her own but we believe God has spared her so far because He has a mission for her life to save more children. Help us save Jacquiela for the calling God has placed on her life.

This Go Fund Me account will be designated solely for Jacquiela's medical bills and living expenses. We believe she can fight this cancer. We need your help in support of the battle.
