Mr. Yim's Medical Fund

Mong Hui Yim is a man of great service. On Sunday afternoons, he’s at Johns Creek Korean Church giving lunch to everyone until it’s all gone. If he’s not there, he’s most definitely in the kitchen helping out. Other days of the week, he’s somewhere around church, cleaning and preparing for the next week’s service. He’s ALWAYS there doing a lot of volunteer work or helping out elsewhere.

In March of 2013, he underwent a colectomy to treat his at-the-time colon cancer. It was deemed successful; however, doctors later found he had cancerous tumors in his liver. He then went through several rounds of chemotherapy until the cancer was no longer detected. This past December doctors discovered that his cancer had recurred in his liver. Due to the aggressive nature of it, there is only one doctor at Emory Hospital in Atlanta who can perform his surgery.

He’s been paying off extremely steep medical bills since 2013 as he’s not insured. This time around he can’t have the surgery until every single penny has been paid upfront. Because of his current health, he’s only able to work part-time. On top of that, he’s still making sure his son finishes college. The last thing that he should have to worry about is money for medical treatment, with the first being his health.

This GoFundMe page is a chance to help him this once, for the many times he's helped so many others. It starts small, but a small act of kindness does go a long way. It can make such a big impact. Please don’t think that any amount is too small. Any amount is plenty and generous, and gets him one step closer to having his surgery!
