Mr. V Fundraiser

A UC worker and proud Union member of AFSCME Local 3299 who has worked at the University of California for more than 10 years was unjustly apprehended by ICE. At 4am on October 18, 2019, ICE detained him right outside of his house as he was leaving to work.  He has been held against his will in Adelanto Detention Center and has been separated from his family and friends.

He would clean student classrooms, restrooms, laboratories, offices and other common areas making the University clean and safe when students and staff arrived.  He is a family man and a long time community member.  ICE needs to stop targeting good hard working people and stop separating families from each other.

After 7 months held in detention, he has finally been granted bail.  Unfortunately, he can only be released when he pays a bond of $10,000.  We are asking for your help to raise the funds to get his freedom. 

Unfortunately, since he has been held against hiswill and not been able to work, his family is struggling to make ends meet. His partner just had a panic attack because she doesn’t know how to keep herself and the family together. She doesn’t have work and he is in detention. We are asking for additional support to help him provide shelter and food upon his release. 

Help us get him home by donating to his bail fund so that he can be reunited with his loved ones.
